vacation style.

The best thing about visiting family is that no one cares if you wear the same sweater three times in six days.  Did I just admit that?  Don't judge me. ;)

Here are (very few) outfit pix from my Thanksgiving vacation.  Basically, I packed next to nothing because I knew that I would go shopping with my mom (who is my favorite person to shop with!).  I needed space to bring tons of newly acquired stuff back.  So, I mixed and matched.  And then mixed and matched again and again.

For weeks now I keep seeing this outfit pop up on Pinterest.  And, to be honest, every time I look at it I don't really like it.  It's just not really that sophisticated and it's so...country .

Not that there's anything wrong with country.  You're talking to a girl who lived in Texas for a few years.  I love a good cowboy hat and boot!  Well, regardless of my very bland thoughts on this look, I think it rubbed off on me, because...

It's no secret that I adore my riding boots.  (Probably a little too much!)  I bought the Etienne Aigner Costa boots over 2 years ago and I have been wearing them constantly since.  In fact, they are such a staple to my outfits that when my Costa boots bit the dust this week I was truly devastated.  The zippers malfunctioned and I was quoted $100 for a repair.  Can you believe it?  No, thank you--for that price, I'd rather just buy new boots!

  

As sad as I was, I immediately got to shopping and found a new pair.  Again, I ended up with Etienne Aigners- this time the Chip riding boots (in "Banana Bread", for those that have been asking!).  

These shoes are bliss!!  Highly recommended to anyone shopping for riding boots.  Oh, and just for good measure my work bag also decided give out this week.  Fortunately, I scored this beautiful one at TJMaxx!

P.S.  I'm pretty sure that I'm trying to live out my Ralph Lauren equestrian fantasy in this outfit.  I never did get that pony as a child!

I bought these lace shorts about 2 years ago from Forever21.  At the time, I was still in graduate school and had a pretty casual wardrobe.  Not so much anymore.  But, I had today off from work (Thank you for all your sacrifices, Veterans!), so I had the liberty to be a little bit more funky with my outfit.

I'm also rocking this great eco-friendly infinity scarf from BellieBoop.  Guilt free clothing that's cute?  Fabulous!

Hi, guys!  Happy November!  How was your week?  

Mine was filled to the brim with work.  But, now I get to relax with the hubs and also see a few friends.  So excited!

Along with November came my renewed obsession with animal prints and stripes.  I just can't get enough!!  Oh, and it's been pretty cold here in Michigan.  So, I've been layering to the max.
